TMJ Exercises That Actually Help

By September 3, 2026No Comments2 min read

Experiencing jaw pain while you’re sitting at your desk? You’re not alone. Today, we’re gonna show you three exercises you can do at your desk to help relieve TMJ pain.

Chin Tuck

Let’s start with the chin tuck. Most of us sit like this, but here’s what you should be doing.

We’re gonna bring the head all the way back and tuck your chin in, like you’re pulling it straight back. Hold for five seconds, then relax. Repeat this 10 times.

This helps strengthen your neck and take pressure off the jaw.

Jaw Glide

Next, we have the jaw glide. Place your fingers gently under your chin. Then, slowly push your jaw forward. Hold for three seconds, then pull it back. Do this 10 times.

It helps strengthen and align your jaw, reducing tension. This exercise is great for improving mobility in your jaw.

Trigger Point Massage

Now, let’s move on to our final technique: trigger point massage.

To do this, you’re gonna find the tender spots along the side of your jaw, right under your cheekbone. Apply light pressure and massage in small circles for 30 seconds on each side.

This helps release tight muscles and alleviate TMJ discomfort.

By doing these three exercises daily, you’ll feel a significant reduction in jaw pain and tension. Need more help with TMJ pain? Start with these three exercises and reach out if you need further support.
